Pause Originals is a curated collection of short-form cinematic work, built over more than a decade with some of the world's most distinctive directors, studios, sound designers and visual artists.
For the first time, the archive is being made available for licensing.
Each annual volume is commissioned around a single forward-looking theme, produced to broadcast standard, and premiered through Pause Fest and partner festivals worldwide. The result is a rare archive: original, fully-cleared, director-led work that sits closer to gallery cinema than to stock or commercial reels.
The collection has shaped a generation of motion design and visual storytelling, with creators and studios from Tokyo to São Paulo, Los Angeles to Berlin contributing work that has gone on to influence the global motion industry. Titles have won at SXSW, Red Dot, Motion Design Awards, Communicator Awards, Davey Awards and Melbourne Design Awards, and have been featured in Stash, Motionographer, 3D World and IdN.
The collection spans abstract motion, narrative shorts, experimental animation, CGI, live action and sound. Together, it forms an evolving visual record of how leading creators imagine technology, nature, identity and the future.
Licensing the collection
After more than ten years, Pause Originals is opening for licensing for the first time, to brands, agencies, broadcasters, streamers, festivals and cultural institutions. This is a rare opportunity to license work from an archive that has influenced the global motion industry but has never been commercially available, until now.
The collection is suited to:
Campaign and brand use: hero films, social cutdowns, in-store and OOH content, launch films and brand environments
Screening and exhibition: festivals, museums, galleries, public screens, cinema pre-rolls and curated programmes
Editorial and platform use: streaming, broadcast interstitials, network IDs, channel branding and online editorial features
Every work is original, signed off by its creators, and available under flexible terms. Bespoke curation, single-title licences, full-volume packages and custom edits can all be arranged.
